# Captain Midnight #31 The issue contains two stories. "Adventures of 'R.C.' and Quickie: Flaming Rescue" depicts R.C. and his dog Quickie discovering a burning house with a girl trapped inside; they alert firemen who rescue the girl, and she thanks R.C. by giving him a Royal Crown Cola. The main Captain Midnight story involves Captain Midnight attempting to stop criminals who have stolen a dagger and tried to rob the Hawton Towers; after a plane chase and spin, he and Sergeant Twilight apprehend the crooks. A second Captain Midnight sequence shows him interrupting sabotage at Casey James' construction camp, where a villain named Olivar tries to use an aerial steam shovel invention to wreck the railroad, but Captain Midnight pursues and stops him.
