In 1722, a Dutch colonial court condemns a man named Pieter Erbervelt for treason, decreeing that no one may ever build on his land. Two centuries later, during World War II, Captain Midnight arrives in Batavia, Java, to rescue American pilots captured by the Japanese, only to find that one of the accused is a descendant of the original traitor—and that the island’s people are divided between collaborators and those secretly aiding the Allies.

When a radio call to teach flying sparks a bold new mission, Icky dons the mantle of Sergeant Twilight and opens a flying school—only to find his lessons misused when the Syke's gang takes to the skies in a stolen helicopter. Now Captain Midnight must step in to stop the chaos before the skies fall into the wrong hands.

Captain Midnight races to stop a sabotage campaign threatening the Pan-American Railroad, a dream project led by engineer Casey James.
