Cerebus Bi-Weekly #25
In "This Woman, This Thing," Cerebus stands at the edge of a surreal clash as the fearsome Woman-Thing looms, only to be interrupted by the arrival of the flamboyant Sump Thing. What follows is a chaotic, towering battle that ends in a sudden plunge—into a pit where the conflict takes a turn both bizarre and deeply unsettling. Written and drawn entirely by Dave Sim, this 1989 issue delivers a uniquely grotesque, self-contained moment in the series’ evolving mythos, with Sim’s signature art and storytelling on full display. The cover, also by Sim, captures the scene’s absurd grandeur in bold, expressive lines.

As Cerebus prepares to face off against the awesome power of Woman-Thing, another monster appears: the fabulous Sump Thing! Fortunately, the monsters immediately come into conflict with each other and begin battling, only to fall into a pit. While in the pit, though, the titanic battle becomes something...else. Ew.
