In the Mojave Desert, Rocky, the original Challengers and Marlon duck mercenaries. (Kenn, Clay, and Brenda are dematerialized in their car.) Both teams say they saw a bright light, both planes crashed, and both saw a second light. June and Prof state they weren't killed in the explosion of Challenger Mountain, but transported to another planet. They lived there until zapped into Dr. Carcosa's lab. They escaped, signaled their friends and met, and were winked out again -- for five years. They infiltrate Dr. Carcosa's base and are ambushed but Saxon the Anti-Challenger guns down the mercenaries.
