This anthology issue contains two Western stories. "Cheyenne Kid" features the title character confronting an outlaw named Rees and his gang who are taking over the town with Sheriff Tait's help; Cheyenne Kid thwarts their bank robbery scheme by disrupting their coordination during a street gunfight. "Klever Kid" tells of a young boy who befriends a beautiful chestnut gelding in Davonport, then must protect it from a man named Mart Held who covets the horse; the boy's quick thinking with a trap prevents the theft. A separate story involving wagon trains follows, in which Captain Boone reports to Major Ferris about encounters with Cheyenne Indians attacking the wagons, leading to a military discussion about the threat.

Cheyenne Kid

Marshal Tait was once a western legend, but now the crooks of Laredo—led by the ruthless Anton Rees—sense he's fading, and they're moving in for the kill. When the Cheyenne Kid drifts into town and sees a good man being pushed to the brink, he offers his gun and his loyalty, even as Tait insists on fighting alone. As Rees orchestrates his final play to destroy them both, the Cheyenne Kid and the aging marshal must find out if there's still fight left in either of them.

Cheyenne Kid

The Cheyenne Kid tracks Indian sign to Morgan Glade's horse ranch and discovers a desperate situation: a Kiowa sub-chief and his starving warriors have been driven to steal horses to feed their people, while Glade has claimed the unbranded ponies as his own through a legal loophole. When Glade springs a violent trap, the Cheyenne Kid must decide whether to side with the law or stand with men pushed to the brink by broken promises and hunger.

When Boone uncovers the truth and accuses a trusted man at the fort, he must fight to stop a war that could devastate the frontier and the innocent people caught in between.
