The Cheyenne Kid escapes courtship and execution by the Army regulars by fleeing like a coward, though he stampedes after him. Inside Fort Brady, Colonel Wathen and scout Jim Morton devise a plan to end a Sioux siege: Morton will obtain explosives from Bozeman and use them to blow up a supply wagon to make the Indians think the fort is under attack, allowing them to escape. Morton succeeds in planting the explosives and reaching the river under cover of darkness. Blurehead, a Sioux war chief, agrees to a treaty with the Cheyenne Kid after learning the terms, and Commissioner Hook is satisfied with the peaceful settlement.

Cheyenne Kid

When two legendary mountain men, Jem Carnahan and Loki Svenn, steal the Cheyenne Kid's horse and furs, he sets out across 300 miles of dangerous territory to track them down—armed with nothing but ingenuity and a homemade bow. What starts as payback turns into a cat-and-mouse game across Comanche country, where the Kid uses cunning and trickery to harass the trappers at every turn. By journey's end, the three rough-and-tumble frontiersmen discover there's more to respect between them than grudges.

Dynamite Spuds
3 pp · Western-Frontier

When the Sioux Chief Blue Bear cuts off Fort C.F. Smith and starves it into submission, the garrison faces a threat even more dangerous than warriors: scurvy is ravaging the men faster than any attack. Scout Jim Morton hatches an unconventional plan—using a newfangled explosive called dynamite to retrieve a wagonload of potatoes from a distant ranch, then race it back through enemy lines. What begins as a desperate gamble becomes the most unexpected defense the frontier has ever seen.

Cheyenne Kid

The Cheyenne Kid escorts Indian Commissioner Lazarus Hook into Sioux territory to present a new treaty that would return hunting grounds and freedom to Bluehead's plains tribes—but when they reach the war-marked chieftain's camp, old blood between the Kid and Bluehead threatens to derail the fragile peace. As a thousand warriors gather to watch, the two men face off in a duel that will determine whether the frontier finds peace or descends further into conflict.
