In "On the Run," the Cheyenne Kid battles a group of outlaws including the Clumsy Whites and a man named Cullen who has robbed his own bank and hired the Kid to kill detective Peter Elk to cover his tracks. After a series of confrontations involving a wounded Comanche, a cave hideout, and a shootout at an Indian encampment, the Kid pursues Cullen and his gang across the frontier. The story culminates in a dramatic chase where the Cheyenne Kid attempts to stop the outlaws' escape wagon, leading to a collision that kills one of the pursuing warriors instead of the Kid.

Where the Buffalo Roamed

This educational account traces the dramatic rise and fall of America's buffalo herds, from the sixty million that once sustained Plains Indian nations across the continent to near-total extinction in the late 1800s. The story chronicles how the herds' abundance enabled indigenous peoples to thrive through hunting and resourcefulness, then documents the devastating impact of hide hunters and westward expansion that brought the buffalo to the brink of disappearing forever. A sobering look at how quickly a cornerstone of frontier life could vanish—and how recovery is possible.
