After a confrontation in a saloon where Rock-Face Johnson draws first in a gunfight, the Colorado Kid heads to the sheriff's office, where he encounters the outlaw's hidden brother—a woman wanted for murder in a frontier town—and learns that a valuable Indian knife proves her connection to the crime.
When Colorado stumbles upon a wild stallion guarding a fresh grave in the valley, he sets off a chain of events that leads him to the town of Redspot—where a murder has the townspeople ready to lynch a half-Indian brother and sister for a crime they insist they didn't commit. As the Colorado Kid investigates, he discovers that nothing in this troubled valley is quite as straightforward as the angry mob believes, and he may be the only one willing to look deeper than the obvious suspect.
Colorado Kid rides shotgun on a gold shipment headed for Los Angeles, but the notorious bandit El Lobo—the Phantom Wolf of San Juan—has other plans for the cargo. When the outlaw strikes at Devil's Canyon, Colorado must hold off the attack and keep the gold moving, though his cunning opponent escapes with a promise of revenge. Back in town, Colorado finds himself caught between a vengeful man seeking payback for his brother's death and a mystery that points to a different culprit entirely.
