Creepy #18
In the isolated highlands of northern England, a desperate experiment unfolds in "Abominable Snowmen," a chilling tale from Creepy #18 (1968). When reclusive scientist Dr. Sebastian persuades his former student, surgeon Dr. King, to transplant his mind into a grotesque composite body, the result is a monstrous transformation that spirals beyond control. Written by Archie Goodwin and brought to life with stark, haunting art by Reed Crandall, the story builds a tense, gothic dread that culminates in a thunderous, lightning-struck end. The cover, by Vic Prezio, captures the eerie atmosphere perfectly.

In a remote part of northern England, aging and infirm scientist, Dr. Sebastian, convinces his once pupil, the surgeon Dr. King, to transplant his brain into an unliving body he created from two corpses. The transplant is successful but King is horrified to see that his mentor has turned into a power-crazed monster. On a rampage, Sebastian storms past outraged villagers and is struck down by lightning attracted to the metal electrodes in his neck. The only thing left of the scientist is a pile of ashes.
