Crime School #2

This 2012 Dargaud release brings together the mischievous young cast of Crime School in a cover full of manga-inflected charm — a confident blonde teen in a beret and red-accented outfit takes center stage, flanked by a crew of wide-eyed, uniformed kids with plenty of personality to spare. Morvan and Ooshima's subtitle, Balos un jour, balos toujours ("Losers one day, losers always"), hints at scrappy underdogs who may have other ideas about their fate. It's a fun, energetic package that captures exactly the kind of playful delinquent spirit this Franco-Belgian series delivers.
