“Poison!”

"Poison!" from Crime SuspenStories #3 (1951) delivers a taut, pulse-pounding tale of desperation and misjudgment, written by Al Feldstein. After a bank heist ends in murder, a fleeing robber takes a risky mountain route, only to face a roadblock he doesn’t understand—his panic mounting as he realizes too late he’s trapped by circumstances beyond his control. The cover by Johnny Craig captures the story’s chilling tension with stark, cinematic precision.

Mr. Boles was pretty smug, as he and his housekeeper attended the funeral of Margaret Boles.....smug thinking that no one knew he had killed his wife. But everything that his housekeeper says and does seems to indicate to him that she somehow knows what he did, and so he makes plans to somehow convince a doctor that the housekeeper tried to poison him.
