“If we made a stop in Denver . . .”

In "If we made a stop in Denver...", Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrows deliver a tense, harrowing chapter of survival as the group pushes westward, seeking refuge in Denver. With Burrows' stark art and Juanmar's haunting colors, the issue captures a chilling shift in the Crossed—no longer mindless, but cruelly patient, turning their victims into prolonged games. When Stan and the survivors break free, the cost is steep, and the escape leads to a desperate, heartbreaking moment on a bridge.

On their way West, the survivors decide to try to restock in Denver before crossing the Rocky Mountains. They encounter a group of Crossed that seem to have learned to control their impulses enough to prolong their play with their captives instead of just raping and killing them immediately. Stan and the group escape from this group, but they loose Sheena while crossing a bridge.
