Cyclops heads to Paraguay trying to hunt down Ulysses. The villain is busy preparing his green beret troops to kill Cyclops as he holds the X-Man responsible for the deaths of his old military unit. Cyclops battles Ulysses and his men even though they are equipped with ruby quartz armor. When one of the men discovers that it is Ulysses rather than Cyclops who is the cold blooded killer, he turns on his boss and helps Cyclops bring him down. With his "vacation" completed and new confidence in his leadership abilities, Scott returns to the X-Men.
