DC One Million #1

Nov 1998 · DC · 2.95 USD; 4.25 CAD
“Riders on the Storm”

In "Riders on the Storm," Grant Morrison and Val Semeiks launch DC One Million with a bold crossover that pulls the present-day Justice League to the Watch Tower, where their 853rd Century counterparts arrive with a mission: to test each hero’s legacy through future challenges, all under the shadow of a returning Superman Prime. With Vandal Savage and Solaris plotting unseen moves, the stage is set for a sprawling, multilayered story where time, destiny, and heroism collide — all rendered in striking detail by Semeiks and Rollins, with vibrant colors by Garrahy and Digital Chameleon.

The Justice League of America is pulled to the Watch Tower on an emergency notice to find their counterparts from the 853rd Century have traveled back in time to talk to them. The future team is trying to give each of the present heroes a chance to perform in challenges in the future to the adulation of heroes that have come to honor the return of Superman Prime. They will remain behind to handle any crises that might arise (which Vandal Savage and Solaris are planning). Lots and lots of sub-plots here.
