Deadpool Corps #5
In "Deadpool Corps Five-O," the chaotic crew of the Deadpool Corps battles the sinister Awareness in a wild, mind-bending showdown that leaves one member—Lady Deadpool—unexpectedly transformed, her scars vanished, though she keeps the change hidden from her teammates. With the threat neutralized, the Contemplator rewards their bravery by granting each a Deadpool ring, a powerful talisman that can summon an Elder of the Universe when called upon. Written by Victor Gischler and brought to life with bold, kinetic energy by Rob Liefeld (pencils and inks), Matt Yackey (colors), and the dynamic lettering of Virtual Calligraphy and Clayton Cowles, this 2010 issue delivers a high-octane, offbeat adventure with a touch of surreal wonder. The cover, also by Rob Liefeld, captures the team’s chaotic flair in full force.

The Deadpool Corps cut through the forces of the Awareness and stop the evil alien from sucking up the consciousness of any more helpless worlds. During their psychedelic encounter with the villain, Lady Deadpool has her scarred face healed and becomes beautiful, a fact she keeps secret from the rest of the team. As a reward for their valiant efforts, the Contemplator lets them keep their space ship and gives each member of the team a Deadpool ring which they can use to summon an Elder of the Universe to their aid in time of need.
