Deadpool Max #12
In "Moment of Silence: A True Story," Deadpool and the surprisingly competent Hydra Bob take on a deadly threat in Cincinnati when a biological toxin is set to be unleashed by Taskmaster and her Hydra operatives. Written by David Lapham and brought to life with bold, expressive art by Kyle Baker—whose work defines the issue’s tone and look—this story blends dark humor with escalating dread as the heroes’ victory quickly unravels. The cover by Kyle Baker captures the moment’s grim irony, setting the stage for a tale where even the best intentions might not be enough.

Since Hydra now exists as an evil, terrorist organization (Thanks, Hydra Bob), Blind Al sends Bob and Deadpool to stop them from releasing a deadly biological toxin on the city of Cincinnati. Our heroes swoop in and succeed in saving the day, stopping Taskmaster and her Hydra goons before the Liquid X bombs can be detonated. Their victory is short lived, however, as the bombs go off anyway and Ohioans start melting in the street. Al accuses Bob of orchestrating this mayhem as part of his grand Hydra scheme and Deadpool and Bob saunter off into the sunset as public enemy #1 (and 2).
