Deadpool's Art of War #2

The striking ink-wash cover of this 2015 Marvel series captures Deadpool — his mask's eyes visible on a red umbrella he holds against driving rain — standing amid a small cluster of silhouetted figures before a dramatic, towering mountainous landscape. Looming opposite him is a massive dark figure, weapon raised high, flanked by a bold red circle that evokes classical East Asian brushwork. Scott Koblish's cover art, colored by Val Staples, brings a genuinely beautiful restraint to the merc with a mouth, and Peter David's Sun Tzu-inspired story looks every bit as fun and inventive as that premise promises.
