“Turning Japanese...or Little Demon Inside”

In "Turning Japanese...or Little Demon Inside," Deadpool ventures to Japan on a mission to protect Oyakata, a man with a shadowy past, only to face a twisted echo of himself in the form of Widdle Wade—a clone born from a long-ago scheme involving the Beyonder. Written by James Felder and illustrated by Pete Woods, with inks by Walden Wong and colors by Shannon Blanchard, this 1998 Marvel classic blends action, absurdity, and a surprising emotional thread as Deadpool confronts both his doppelgänger and the legacy of a man he once destroyed. The cover by Pete Woods and Rebecca Shelander captures the clash with chaotic flair.

In the distant past, Deadpool interferes with the Beyonder's plan. Shigeru creates a clone of Deadpool, Widdle Wade. In the present, the Boss contacts Deadpool and tells him that a killer is on the loose and asks him to protect the next target, Oyakata, whom he knows. Deadpool travels to Japan where he encounters Widdle Wade and fights him off. In the past, Deadpool is also reunited with Oyakata's daughter, Sazae. Widdle Wade attacks again. Deadpool tells Sazae that he was the one who killed all of her father's old targets, thus restoring him to honor in his daughter's eyes.
