Deadpool vs. Carnage #[nn]
Deadpool vs. Carnage #18 (2014) delivers a brutal, bloody rematch as the Merc with a Mouth is left shattered after Carnage's merciless victory in round two. With Shriek in peril and Carnage hijacking a minivan to chase a mysterious sign, Deadpool follows the trail to a forgotten ghost town hiding a secret military base beneath its dusty streets. Written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated with visceral precision by Salva Espín, with colors by Veronica Gandini and letters by Joe Sabino, the issue plunges into a high-stakes underground hunt—where Deadpool’s recovery takes a darker, more unpredictable turn. The cover, by Glenn Fabry, captures the chaos in stark, striking detail.

The story resumes with Carnage definitely winning round 2 and leaving Deadpool on the interstate looking more like a pound of ground beef than anything else. Carnage grabs Shriek, who was injured at the start of the battle, and proceeds to car jack a family filled minivan and heads off in search of a sign. Deadpool eventually finds Carnage's trail at an old ghost town. Turns out there's a secret military base under this ghost town though and Deadpool heads underground looking for Carnage and Shriek. He finds them and gets worked over good. He recovers a little differently than usual.
