This 1994 graphic novel from DC's Vertigo imprint tells the story of Death, the personification of mortality from Neil Gaiman's Sandman universe, as she takes human form for one day every century to better understand the lives she oversees. Written by Neil Gaiman with art by Chris Bachalo and Mark Buckingham, the story follows Death as she inhabits the body of a teenage girl and encounters a young man named Sexton who is contemplating suicide, leading to a poignant exploration of life's value and the nature of choice.
