“The Case of the Runaway Blonde”

In "The Case of the Runaway Blonde," Dick Tracy faces a dangerous chase as the fugitive duo of B. O. and Breathless flee with stolen funds, leaving a trail of chaos in their wake. With Dick weakened from a poisoned drink and Pat racing to get help, the tension mounts as the criminals split and the city becomes a stage for a high-stakes game of cat and mouse. Written, drawn, and inked by Chester Gould, this 1951 installment delivers the signature noir flair and relentless pacing that defined the series, with the cover by Gould capturing the moment’s suspense in sharp, dynamic lines.

While B. O. and Breathless are on the run, Pat sends for a doctor to treat Dick for the poison that was put in his coffee. Breathless escapes with most of the money and leaves B. O. sleeping on a bus. B. O. is captured by Dick and Pat but simply walks out of the police station when everyone is distracted by a phone call.
