Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome #[nn]
In "Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome," the infamous criminal Gruesome fakes his death with a Karloff-esque makeover and slips into the spotlight of Mel O. Dee’s theatrical production—only for Dick Tracy to catch his telltale voice and move in for the arrest. With a Christmas Eve birth adding quiet tension to the city’s chaos, Tracy’s pursuit leads to a fiery climax at the theater, where Gruesome’s escape plan goes up in smoke. Written by Mike Curtis and brought to life with sharp, classic flair by Joe Staton and Shelley Pleger, the cover by Staton and Pleger captures the eerie glamour of the moment.
