Feb 1988 · Blackthorne · 2.00 USD; 2.75 CAD
“Introducing Mr. Crime”

"Introducing Mr. Crime" marks a pivotal moment in the Dick Tracy saga, as the iconic detective faces his most dangerous adversary yet—Mr. Crime—introduced here for the first time in this 1988 Blackthorne weekly. Written and drawn by the legendary Chester Gould, the story plunges into a tense, high-stakes game of survival when Tonsils, rescued from a tire casing by an old couple, spirals into paranoia and violence after a heartbreaking betrayal. With Gould’s sharp storytelling and unmistakable artistry on full display, the issue sets the stage for a brutal showdown between Tracy and a shadowy new foe who forces Tonsils into a deadly mission—kill the detective or die himself. The cover, also by Gould, captures the grim intensity of the moment with its stark, noir-inspired composition.

The old man brings Dot View to see Tonsils, but Tonsils thinks he's been betrayed and goes on a rampage that nearly kills the couple and Dot.
