The issue contains two stories. In "Dixie Dugan" by McEvoy and Striebel, Dixie agrees to design an interior for a woman named Mrs. Twiller in exchange for money, and Mrs. Twiller is so pleased with the work that she promises to hire Dixie again the following week. In the second "Dixie Dugan" story, Dixie hires a band for a harvest hop dance and goes on a romantic moonlit drive with a man named Charlie, but discovers her front lawn is covered with junk; she and the neighborhood children then sell the old iron for pennies to raise money for a worthy cause, with Dixie calling a junk dealer to remove the items from her property.
