Doberman #5

The fifth and final issue of IDW and Darby Pop's Doberman goes out with a flair that perfectly captures the series' irreverent attitude — its shaggy, sunglasses-wearing, leather-jacketed hero dives straight toward the reader, crushing a beer can in his gloved fist while a helicopter explodes in a shower of sparks behind him. It's a cover that wears its blue-collar, over-the-top action sensibilities proudly, with scattered shell casings and a bag of pretzels adding just the right absurdist touch. The creative team of Marder, Rosell, Lambert, McKinney, and Atkinson clearly had a blast bringing this badge-wearing maverick to life.
