In "Minute Men -- 1943 Style," Doc Savage’s allies face a new threat as Nazi soldiers outmaneuver the crocodiles guarding Astron’s island and shoot down Cassidy’s patrol plane. With help from four lost harpies—whose mysterious journey may be tied to the Nazis’ occupation of Greece—Cassidy and his observer fight their way through the jungle, ultimately freeing Astron. Art by Charles Payne brings the perilous island adventure to life with dynamic, period-accurate detail.

Nazi soldiers manage to evade the crocodiles guarding Astron's island. They also shoot down Cassidy's patrol plane, but he and his observer made their way through the jungle to the island with help of four harpies who have become lost while trying to return to Olympus. (Cassidy points out their problem might have to do with the Nazis occupying Greece.) The harpies kill the Nazis and Cassidy frees Astron.
