Donald Duck & Co #10/1961
Donald Duck & Co #10/1961 marks the Norwegian comics debut of Flintheart Glomgold — rendered here as Flintus Gullglans — Carl Barks's mirror-image rival to Uncle Scrooge (Onkel Skrue), who would go on to become one of the Duck universe's defining antagonists. The issue opens a three-part serialization of Barks's landmark 1956 story 'The Second-Richest Duck,' breaking the story across weekly installments in a way that was standard for the Norwegian weekly format and that shaped how Norwegian readers experienced American Disney adventures. Published at the tail end of the magazine's transition to a fully weekly schedule (established in 1959), it exemplifies how Hjemmet functioned as the primary pipeline for Barks-era Duck mythology into Scandinavian culture, where Donald Duck & Co. was the single most widely read comic publication in Norway for decades.
In "Varme smultringer," Donald Duck and the boys set off on a globe-trotting adventure after reading in the paper that Gulbrand Gråstein, the famed South African mine magnate, is the richest man in the world. With curiosity piqued and a dash of rivalry in the air, the gang journeys to South Africa to uncover the truth behind the claim—only to find that wealth isn't always what it seems. Written by Carl Barks and Elisabeth Skaare, with art and inks by Carl Barks, this 1961 Egmont classic captures the charm and wit of the Duck universe in a story that's as clever as it is colorful.

The issue was published on 8 March 1961 by Ukebladet Hjemmet under editor Ernst Gervin and printed at Hjemmets trykkeri in Oslo, carrying a cover price of 1.00 NOK across its 36 pages. It draws on at least three American sources simultaneously: a Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge story from Dell's Uncle Scrooge #29 (March–May 1960) featuring Onkel Skrue, the opening installment of Barks's 'The Second-Richest Duck' (originally from Uncle Scrooge #15, September 1956), plus shorter material penciled by Tony Strobl and Pete Alvarado — both regular Dell/Gold Key contributors of the period — translated by Elisabeth Skaare. Grand Comics Database indexing of this issue was assisted by Disney comics scholar Alberto Becattini.
