“Bomb Shelter”

In the 1944 Western comic *Donald Duck* #nn, the Seven Dwarfs take a detour home when they spot Thumper lost in the woods—only to find themselves caught in a witch’s scheme. Disguised as a kind old woman, the Wicked Witch offers Thumper a poisoned apple, unaware he plans to gift it to Dopey for his birthday. When Dopey takes a bite and falls into a deep sleep, the Dwarfs race to the magic wishing well for a cure, leading to a moment of clumsy desperation that might just save the day. Written by Roger Armstrong and Carl Buettner, with art by both, and featuring a cover by Walt Kelly, this whimsical wartime tale blends humor and suspense in a classic Disney adventure.
