Donjon #5
In Donjon #5, Joann Sfar and Lewis Trondheim deliver a delightfully twisted tale where Isis faces a marriage she didn’t choose—either to the stoic Guardian or the man she truly desires, Herbert. As her father eyes the financial promise of the union, the Guardian’s desperate need for money lands him in debt with a lender who quickly sells the loan to the cunning Guillaume Delacourt. With the fate of the Donjon hanging in the balance, tensions rise in this richly drawn, darkly comic chapter. Boulet’s distinctive art and lettering by Lewis Trondheim bring the story’s eccentric world to life, with a cover by Boulet that captures the issue’s sly, surreal tone.
