History

The series was announced by Marvel in February 2024 and placed deliberately in the hands of Danny Lore, who had already co-created Brielle Brooks alongside artist Karen S. Darboe for the 2022 Free Comic Book Day story and then shepherded her through the five-issue Bloodline: Daughter of Blade (2023) limited series. For the Blood Hunt tie-in, Lore was paired with artist Vincenzo Carratù, known for his work on Dead X-Men, with David Curiel on colors, VC's Joe Sabino on letters, and editor Annalise Bissa — the same editorial hand who had overseen Brielle's entire publishing history — shepherding the project. The issue launched on May 8, 2024, one week after the main Blood Hunt series by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz, a sequencing Marvel used deliberately to keep the tie-in in close narrative step with the event's opening chapter.
