Brian tells his psychologist a story about how his father used to show him an old version of Alice in Wonderland. When Brian explains that his father made a deathbed confession, the psychologist defuses the confession by supposing that Brian's father just repeated something he overheard. Brian follows up on this idea and finds out that Robert Neville's father shared a room with Brian's dying father.
