Professor Power forcibly attempts to make Charles Xavier restore the mind of his son Matthew, who has been comatose since the Vietnam war. In order to accomplish this, Power forces Xavier into rekindling the psychic powers of the villain Mentallo. While Professor X battles Mentallo on the astral plane, Spider-Man has a very real confrontation with the mercenary Fixer. Both heroes win, but Matthew's mind has been caught in the crossfire, and his father is powerless as he watches him drift even further into a comatose state.
