The final chapter of Marvel's 2017 anthology miniseries goes out with a gloriously unhinged bang: the cover by Francesco Mattina shows a symbiote-fused Deadpool perched atop an ice cream truck, clutching a taco while more tacos, a popsicle, and red balloons scatter chaotically through the air around him — all framed by writhing black tendrils cracking across the sky like dark lightning. A wide-eyed bystander in yellow sunglasses reacts with understandable alarm from below, which feels like the only reasonable response. It's a wildly fun mashup of Venom's menace and Deadpool's irreverence, and Mattina's painted artwork gives the whole absurd scene a cinematic weight that makes it genuinely hard to look away.
