Elektra #1
This trade paperback collects the first story arc of the 2002 Elektra ongoing series, written by Greg Rucka with art by Igor Kordey. The volume follows Elektra Natchios as she navigates a morally complex world of assassination and redemption, while a mysterious new enemy forces her to confront her own past and the consequences of her violent profession.
In "Introspect Part Two," Elektra finds herself stranded in the Mojave Desert after Locke, a man whose life she once shattered, reveals the painful truth: she is not a hero, but a killer who claims both the guilty and the innocent. As the harsh landscape closes in, the weight of her past actions presses down on her, forcing her to confront the cost of her choices.
In "Introspect Part Three," Elektra drifts through the Mojave Desert in a daze, her mind as vast and unforgiving as the landscape around her. The Coalition, furious with Locke for allowing her escape, scours the desert and finds her unconscious, a ghost among the sand and sun.
In "Introspect Part Five," Elektra faces off against Locke in a tense, intimate confrontation, forcing him to explain his role in the attack that left her for dead in the desert. As the weight of their shared history and conflicting ideals comes to a head, Locke insists he only wants her to change—before she becomes something beyond redemption.
