Fantasy Masterpieces #7
In "The Search for Sub-Mariner," a 1967 Marvel classic, the Torch sets out to make amends after being blamed for failing to capture Namor, leading him on a determined pursuit through New York. Written and illustrated by Carl Burgos, with coloring by Stan Goldberg and lettering by Burgos himself, the story finds the Torch teaming up with Betty in a race to the Empire State Building, where Namor has been sighted once more. The cover, a dazzling collaborative effort by Gil Kane, Steve Ditko, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby, with inks by Kane, Ditko, Heck, and Russ Heath, captures the tension of the chase in bold, dynamic style.
