With the help of the medicine man N'Guru, Tubu attempts to eliminate B'Wala through a dangerous plan involving mind-altering mushrooms—but when the Fantomen accidentally brings some of the fungi back to his home, he begins to suspect something is deeply wrong. Written by Michael Tierres and Hans Jonsson, with art by Romano Felmang and inks by Eugenio Benni, and featuring a cover by Rolf Gohs, this 1993 issue of Fantomen delivers a tense political thriller rooted in tribal intrigue and hidden manipulation.

Tubu, Teneke-folkets kronprins, visar sig olämplig för rollen och hans far överväger att istället utse den yngste sonen B'Wala till sin efterföljare. Tubu och medicinmannen N'Guru förekommer offentliggörandet och giftmördar hövdingen. Rådet vill dock inte låta Tubu ta makten, och saken avgörs i en duell där B'Wala vinner. Tubu och medicinmannen försöker manövrera ut honom genom att ge B'Wala svampar som gör honom galen. Men så råkar Fantomen få med sig några svampar hem och anar vad som pågår.
