When TV sponsor Van Crawford and his father decide to give struggling comedian Franky Prankster one last chance to redeem himself on air, the prankster's compulsion for practical jokes threatens to derail the entire broadcast—until Van Crawford transforms into Fatman, the Human Flying Saucer, to restore order. This 1967 humor adventure pits a well-meaning young man and his ridiculous superhero alter ego against a comedian who simply can't help himself, no matter how hard he tries.

When Van Crawford stops by a candy shop and meets the charming Eunice "Sugar" Kane, he discovers she's created a delicious new confection called Saucer Sweets—but the ambitious candy maker is struggling to keep up with demand. Van offers his help, but the unscrupulous Kandy Dandy will stop at nothing to steal Sugar's secret recipe, forcing our unlikely hero to juggle romance, sabotage, and the simple art of stirring candy to save the day.

Van Crawford's bird-watching hobby takes a wild turn when he spots a tiny UFO diving toward a speeding locomotive—forcing him to transform into Fatman, the Human Flying Saucer, to save the day. But the orphaned UFOlet mistakes him for its mother and won't leave him alone, leading Fatman on an unexpected journey into space to reunite the creature with its massive Mother Ship. What begins as a simple rescue becomes a hilarious cosmic mix-up that tests even a flying saucer hero's patience.
