They Battled for Their Graves
8 pp · War

Lieutenant Harry Vaughan has been sidelined to oversee a graves detail on a Pacific island, far from the combat action he's been craving—but when a Japanese counterattack emerges from the jungle, he realizes the enemy has him and his men pinned down with no reinforcements in sight. In a desperate gambit, Vaughan convinces his commanding officer to send "stretcher-bearing reinforcements" to his position, which turn out to be armed Marines playing dead, ready to fight from the very graves they've been digging. What unfolds is a tense, outnumbered battle where Vaughan finally gets his chance to prove himself under fire.

The Party Pooper!
7 pp · War

PFC. Pfeffer's impulsive rifle shot at a Russian general's victory ceremony in Korea puts him on the run from Communist forces—and he seizes an unlikely opportunity to turn the tables. Using the general himself as a hostage and guide, Pfeffer commandeers a car to navigate back toward American lines, all while racing against closing enemy forces and directing Red armor away from his own troops. It's a desperate gambit where one scared Marine has to outthink an entire Communist army just to survive.
