“Secret Origins Part Two”

In "Secret Origins Part Two," Jason discovers he can still merge with another to become Firestorm—this time with his S.T.A.R. Labs boss—when a new threat, Pionic Man, emerges. Together, they battle through intense energy clashes, culminating in Firestorm transmuting the villain’s suit into helium and sealing him away. But victory is short-lived as Firestorm returns home, only to be ambushed by an imposter—Amazo, masquerading as the Martian Manhunter. Written by Stuart Moore and illustrated by Jamal Igle, with inks by Rob Stull and Keith Champagne, colors by Paul Mounts, and letters by Rob Leigh, this 2005 issue features a cover by Matt Haley.

After talking with his neighbor, Jason realizes that he can still merge with someone to become Firestorm. He does so with his boss at S.T.A.R. Labs to get scientific advice to take on Pionic Man. After a battle, Firestorm transmutes the Pionic Man's containment suit to helium, then traps the Pionic Man in a container. Firestorm then heads home where he is ambushed by Amazo posing as the Martian Manhunter.
