“Sacred Duties”

In "Sacred Duties," Firestorm and Animal Man find themselves caught between two alien forces when they intercept a Rannian ship under attack by Thanagarians, who demand the return of a sacred bird stolen from their world. As tensions flare and the Rannians make a desperate choice, the duo must navigate a conflict rooted in ancient duty and cultural belief—without knowing how it will affect the larger Crisis they’re meant to stop. Written by Stuart Moore and illustrated by Jamal Igle, with Rob Stull on inks and Paul Mounts handling colors, the issue’s cover by Jamal Igle captures the moment’s escalating tension.
