Lawyer Grace joins the Ordway law firm, even though fellow worker Alex doesn’t think women should be lawyers. Grace agrees to date him, planning to put him in his place. She also agrees to represent Carl when Alex says he “is as guilty as sin!” Carl says he’s innocent but the man who can clear him has left town. Grace believes him and her spirited defense gets Carl acquitted. They also fall in love, but then she learns Carl was guilty. He holds her hostage but Alex brings the police and Carl is arrested. Grace and Alex kiss.
