Four Color #249
In "The Globe Trotter," young Woody finds himself stranded on a freighter bound for England after a mishap, only to team up with stowaway Slippery Rhodes when they're caught and forced to work their passage. Their journey takes a dangerous turn when the ship they're on is hijacked by smugglers, leading to a harrowing escape from a slave market in Turkey—where they're eventually rescued by a U.S. destroyer. Dick Hall handles both pencils and inks for the story, bringing the globe-spanning adventure to life, while Dan Gormley's cover captures the escapade's high-stakes energy.

Woody accidentally gets dumped in the cargo hold of a freighter bound for England. He meets up with Slippery Rhodes, a stowaway, but they are discovered and have to work for the rest of the voyage. They jump ship, but end up being picked up by a ship headed for Turkey. That ship turns out to be running guns to a rebel army and it in turn is boarded by forces of Aga Bonami. Woody, Slippery, and the Captain are taken to a slave market and sold as slaves. Woody and Slippery eventually escape and find a U.S. destroyer in port, which takes them back to the U.S.A.
