Four Color #268
In "Pluto the Pointer," Mickey Mouse faces a cultural crossroads when Friday, a friend from his African adventures, sends his brother Thursday to live with him in the States to receive an education. Thursday’s wide-eyed confusion over American customs leads to a series of lighthearted mishaps that test Mickey’s patience and kindness. Written by Merrill De Maris and Floyd Gottfredson, with art by Floyd Gottfredson and inks by Ted Thwaites and Bill Wright, this 1950 Dell Four Color comic features a charmingly awkward newcomer and a familiar world turned upside down—all brought to life in full color by the Western Publishing Production Shop. The cover, by Dan Gormley, captures the moment with playful energy.
