The discovery of a massive gold vein sets off a chain of misadventures, but their fortune quickly fades as reckless spending follows them back south. Woody flies to Alaska to prospect for gold. He hires an incompetent guide, Chief Wormy-Apple, but the pair stumble across a gold mine that is supposedly haunted. The ghost in the mine turns out to be Sourdough Sam, a friend of the guide. The three accidentally discover a huge amount of gold, but waste their fortune by foolish spending on the way back south.
