Francis Saucisson #2
From Biscoto's cheerful 2017 series comes the second volume of Francis Saucisson — L'Art de Vivre — where the lanky, gap-toothed Francis holds a rose aloft in what appears to be a chaotic gallery setting, surrounded by a bearded painter at his easel, a small top-hatted gentleman with a cane, and a wide-eyed kid, all rendered in Nicolas Pinet's wonderfully loose, expressive cartooning style. The bright yellow cover and wall of framed paintings set a lively, art-world stage that feels equal parts absurd comedy and warm slice-of-life. If the first volume won you over, this one looks ready to deliver more of the same irresistible energy.
