Victor Frankenstein, fascinated by electricity, uses it to revivify a corpse. Horrified by the result, he spurns his creation and collapses. The monster begins a campaign of murdering Frankenstein's loved ones unless Frankenstein creates him a mate, but the scientist refuses to follow through. At last they pursue each other to the Arctic, where a dying Frankenstein tells his story to a sympathetic sea captain. Once the scientist dies, the monster trudges into the frozen wilderness alone.
