Lucy tells the local legend of a sailing ship that entered harbor with no passengers or crew, leaving only the captain's artificial hand, now in the town museum. Maggie and friends steal the hand in hopes of liberating the ghost, but Mark and his clique mug them for it. Home from the police station, Maggie enlists her brothers to steal it back, then begs the ghost to return to her family; the brothers too, she learns, have seen the ghost from an early age. With the hand returned her brothers gingerly join her friendship with Lucy and Alistair as the ghost watches silently, then drifts away.
