“The King of Lost Valley”

In "The King of Lost Valley," frontier scout Davy finds himself caught in a storm while escorting prisoners through the mountains—only to rescue a young Indian girl from an avalanche. Taken to her remote village, Davy is bewildered by the mix of tribal customs and unexpected fort-like buildings, and soon faces a startling claim: he is the legendary figure foretold to become their chief. Bob Brown handles both the interior art and the cover, bringing this mysterious mountain tale to life with his distinctive style.

Davy is transporting two prisoners through the mountains en route to an Army post, when they see a young Indian girl traped by an avalanche. Davy rescues her and is taken to her home village, where he sees both tribal members and fort-type structures which are unfamiliar to him. The village elder declares that he is the one predicted in legend to become their chief.
