G.I. Joe, a Real American Hero #69
In "Into the Breach," Hawk’s team races to evacuate the American Ambassador from the collapsing nation of Sierra Gordo, while Destro unexpectedly aids the anti-Villavaca rebels by targeting the Terror-Dromes. As Zarana, Thrasher, and Monkeywrench flee one of the Dromes, they force Wild Bill, Crazylegs, and Maverick to take off with refugees—only for the plane to be hit and lose power mid-flight. With help from Destro’s rebel contacts, Hawk’s team escapes the embassy under fire, but the chaos is far from over. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Tony Salmons, with inks by Randy Emberlin, colors by Bob Sharen, and letters by Joe Rosen, this 1988 issue features a cover by Tony Salmons and Bob McLeod.
