Whitey Whiskers, a perpetually hungry and delightfully absurd character, tries to trick Frisco Freddy into sharing his fish by claiming he knows a foolproof method to catch an entire stream of fish with just a crayon. When Frisco demands to know the secret, Whitey reveals his comically illogical plan: drawing a picture of a worm on a rock to lure fish, which hilariously backfires when Frisco refuses to be fooled.

Sagebrush boasts to a passing stranger that he’s the best fisherman in the territory, claiming he nearly caught a monstrous fish weighing fifty-three and a half pounds—only to be met with disbelief. When challenged on the exact weight, Sagebrush points to the fish’s scales as proof, just as a fish flops into the water with a splash.
