This issue contains two main stories. In "Voice in the Night," a Buck Desmond adventure by Dick Kraus, Buck discovers that the outlaw Snake Mason has taken over the town of Crow Creek through intimidation and protection rackets, forcing the townspeople to pay him regularly. Buck decides to confront Mason to stop his reign of terror. The second story, "Go Fly a Kite!," depicts Gabby Hayes attempting to fly kites as a birthday gift for a child, but trouble erupts when he tells a notorious gold spur gang to "go fly a kite," leading to a chaotic confrontation involving the gang and various townspeople.
